My immediate problem is over. It turns out that the power outage fried the network card on the computer that was in the program at the time, and once they replaced the card she was able to get into our program and that fixed everyone.
Your design is flawed though. What if it had been the motherboard that had failed and it were impossible to open the data files from that computer any more? There has to be a way to fix local server data from the computer that houses the data. Again, will an exclusive open do that?
