Are you mixing up 32 and 64 bit DLLs? If the app is compiled as 32 Bit exe, then the DLLS should also be 32 Bit. If the server is 64 Bit, make sure the DLLs are 64 Bit aswell.

without that setting, ADS lcks file in exclusive mode so no other software can access the files. I guess arcserve bypasses that lock somehow, so this makes no difference.
